Cats typically live to be between 12 and 18 years old. "This can obviously vary due to external factors, such as home life and diet," says Anita. "But the average domestic cat lifespan is 15 years."
Of course, there are exceptions to the rule with some cats known to reach 23 years and beyond. And, women, good to know that female and indoor cats have also been noted to live one or two years longer than their male and outdoor counterparts.
