Why do kittens meow?

Posted by Ally Cohen on

The truth of the matter is there isn't one clear answer. However, many experts agree that they meow most often because they want something. For example, they might be asking for some food, or to be let outside, or even to cuddle.

Meows can also have different types of tones and pitches depending on what the kitten wants, and sometimes a meow can be a sign of distress or even indicate a health issue.
